PHOTO DAY AND ICEBREAKER GAME DAY

HELLO HORNET FAMILIES:

Hi Everyone

It has certainly been a busy start to our return to the box this season.     How exciting we are all feeling.    

We have just completed our Coach Meeting and Manager Meeting and the coaches and their staff are slowly getting into the groove.     We wanted to let you know we have been busy organizing our Annual Icebreaker Game Day and Photo Day.    This is our "kick-off" to the season.   Generally, we have had in-house games, but this year with us having less teams we have invited other club teams to participate.

RAISING MONEY FOR A GOOD CAUSE:

EACH YEAR MONEY THAT WE HAVE RAISED THROUGH THE RAFFLE, 50/50 ETC. WE HAVE DONATED TO A CHARITY.   THIS YEAR WE HAVE RAISED THE BAR AND, AS MENTIONED IN OUR NEWSLETTER, WE ARE HOPING TO RAISE BETWEEN $2000 - $2500 (CASH) FOR THE CALGARY FOOD BANK AND ALSO AN ORGANIZATION IN CALGARY HELPING UKRANIAN REFUGEES THAT ARE NOW IN CALGARY.    DETAILS WILL BE ON THE WEBSITE REGARDING FOOD BANK ITEMS.

AS THERE IS NO CHARGE TO ANY TEAM ATTENDING - WE ARE ASKING EVERY PLAYER TO BRING ONE (1) NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEM; HYGIENE ITEM; BABY ITEM (FORMULA) OR PET FOOD/TREATS.

TIME:                                9:00 AM TO 5:00 PM

WHAT'S TAKING PLACE:

1. On-going games through the day for all divisions;
2. Photos - Team and Individual photos taken by our new photographer - Prime Sports Team Photography **
3. 50/50;
4. Raffle Table;
5. Shorts - pick up your shorts if you are a new player.   Returning players can purchase them at that time ($40).    Players that have paid for their shorts can pick them up at that time as well;
6. Coaches that don't have a coach shirt - can pick one up.   I know we have some new coaches out there!
7. Facepainting;
8. Need a practice jersey?    Want a Hornet Jersey?    We will have loads up for sale;
9. Some apparel will be for sale;
10. Take Shots on a Goalie - for all players and non-players alike.
11. And a few more things

This event is a perfect time to get to know your families and team mates.     As you can appreciate - we have four floors going with games taking place and the photographer so it can be a bit of a scheduling challenge    **  We will have a schedule of times for team photos and the team managers will have access to a link (shortly) to select a time,  add their players, coaches and player jersey numbers).     It may be that there  is a large gap between games and photos so that is why we ask that you make this a social event to kick-off the season.  

ON A FINAL NOTE - WE ARE REACHING OUT TO OUR MEMBERSHIP (AND WILL SEND TO THE MANAGERS TO BRING TO THEIR TEAM'S ATTENTION) RAFFLE ITEMS (LARGE OR SMALL), GIFT BASKETS, THE SKY IS THE LIMIT (GOLF PASSES, RESTAURANT PASSES, HOTELS, SERVICES (MASSAGE THERAPY), PET GROOMING OR WE WILL TAKE A CASH DONATION AS WELL (PERHAPS A COMPANY WOULD DONATE FUNDS) THAT WE CAN PUT TOWARDS ITEMS.   NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL.    THANK YOU!    WE HAVE ATTACHED A SPONSORSHIP LETTER WHICH YOU CAN USE REGARDING SOLICITING ITEMS.   PLEASE CHANGE THE INFORMATION ON THE LETTER TO ADD YOUR OWN CONTACT INFORMATION.      WE ARE SHORT ITEMS AND WE THOUGHT THERE ARE A LOT OF FAMILIES OUT THERE WITH CONNECTIONS.
