Player (runners) required equipment:
1. Helmet and facemask (CSA approved);
2. Mouthguard (mandatory - all levels);
3. Gloves (U7 and U9 can use hockey gloves, but lacrosse gloves are
recommended for all levels as they provide better stick control).
4. Lacrosse Stick - Rule 6(c) The Player's stick shall measure not more than 46",
not less than 40" in overall length, and not more than 8", not less than 4 1/2" in width.
The measurement for width is to be inside frame measurement. Nothing may be added
to or attached to the outside of the stick. NOTE: U13 and all lower divisions, the minimum
length of the stick shall be 34".
5. Shoulder pads (U7-U9 players could use hockey shoulder pads).
Lacrosse shoulder pads tend to be a little smaller and lighter especially the shoulder
cups).
6. Kidney Pads
7. Slash Guards (protect your forearm, elbow and upper arms)
8., Practice Jersey (light weight - hockey jersey type)
9. Basketball or court shoes
10.Cup
11.Soft knee pads for all minor players (something like a basketball sleeve). U15
and U17 players can sign a waiver if they do not want to wear them and provide

** NEW IN 2023 - ALL PLAYERS THAT REGISTER IN THE LIL ROUGHNECKS (U7) DIVISION
WILL RECEIVE A NEW STICK. IN 2024 - ANY NEW PLAYER THAT REGISTERS IN THE LIL
ROUGHNECKS (U7) DIVISION, WILL RECEIVE A NEW STICK.

Goalies (U7 - U17):
Hornets have goalie gear that is signed out to teams (coaches) that do not have a
designated, full-time goalie. Full-time or designated goalies from U11 - U17
can sign out the equipment by completing a waiver and provide a $1500 refundable
deposit. This deposit cheque is returned once the goalie gear has been returned
(no later than September1). Cheques are payable to Hornets Lacrosse Assoc.
Goalie Equipment Purchase Incentive:
Teams that do not have designated, full-time goalies, goalie equipment will be
provided to the coach.
A goalie who wishes to purchase their own equipment, Hornets will be reimburse 30% of
the cost of the goalie gear up to $500.00 per year (excluding GST). This is for
uppers, pants, and leg guards only). To obtain a reimbursement you will need to email
the receipt indicating what was purchased and we will provide a reimbursement cheque
to you. This is whether you have purchased new or used equipment (must have receipt
or proof of purchase).
