Coach Application Process
Those wanting to coach (Head or Assistant)Al
Rwith the Hornets (or the Wranglers Tier 2 or Junior Ladies Cardinals) are required to submit a Coach Application form. Once approved to coach, other requirements will be requested such as certification plans, a Vulnerable Sector check, Confidentiality Agreement etc.
Coach Certification
All coaches are required to follow the current certification process that has been in placed with the CDLA and ALA. Please click the link below to ensure you are up to date, or to know what is required for this coming season.

WHY SHOULD I MAINTAIN MY CERTIFICATION?
Registration in Ramp as Bench Personnel
All Bench Personnel must register in Ramp (Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Trainers and Managers) in order to be assigned to a team, or entered on a gamesheet. This needs to be done ASAP so that you can then obtain access to your Teamsnap account for the season. TO REGISTER IN RAMP
VSR Check
Ccoaches are required to have a current VSR (between 2021 and present). NEW!! We have purchased codes from the Calgary Police Service so there is no cost to you if you require a VSR check done. Please contact executivedirector@hornetslacrosse.com to obtain the link to the application. You can then share or send via email a copy of your completed application. 2024 VSR LETTER
Conduct Best Practices
Being a coach places an individual in a unique situation where they set the tone for the rest of the team. Whether you are the head coach or an assistant coach, you can strongly influence each and every player's experience, positively or negatively, at any given time. Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
For the current season, in all divisions of lacrosse, all coaches of the registered team must have completed the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders in order to be registered to the team;
Respect in Sport for Team Leader certification is valid for 4 years;
Recertification may be required as a result of disciplinary measures.
If you already have a current Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders, you can upload it on the Respect in Sport website and associate yourself to the CDLA. If you need to do the course, please contact executivedirector@hornetslacrosse.com to obtain a code. The CDLA has purchased codes for coaches so there is no cost to you for taking the course.
