WHAT IS INVOLVED AS A TEAM MANAGER?
Thank you for volunteering to be a team manager for your son/daughter‘s team. As part of your job you will be the liaison between the Executive Director (Debbie Goodfellow) and your team. Any questions that you may have can be forwarded to her via e-mail at info@hornetslacrosse.com.
At the start of the season you will be provided with a list indicating who has volunteered for what position or in some cases who has completed their volunteering. If you don''t have a volunteer coordinator already assigned to your team, please determine who the team volunteer coordinator will be (they will be in charge of keeping track of the volunteering). You and the volunteer coordinator can work together regarding matters pertaining to the team. Please start by setting up a list of what jobs need to be done on your teams for the season and keeping track of the hours they are working.
The points are 100 points per player up to a maximum of 200 points per family. In some cases, for example, a family may have two players, but one parent is on the Executive (this position is 200 points). That would take care of the commitment of both players. Some families will have chosen team jobs as their volunteering. This would be scorekeepers, timekeepers, shot clock, jersey person, photo/raffle volunteer, chaperone (if necessary for female players), tournament volunteer (finding tournament), social organizer etc. The commitment for the 100 points is for approximately 6 -8 hours of volunteer time. Please note that some families will have chosen not to volunteer and they have paid the non-volunteer fee. This will be noted on your spreadsheet that you receive from the Executive Director.
If you have any parents that are not volunteering as required, you can remind them that their cheque will be cashed if the volunteering is not completed.
PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES FROM ANY FAMILY REGARDING THEIR VOLUNTEERING DUTIES.
I would ask that you forward to the Executive Director by June 15 your spreadsheet confirming what each family volunteered for and that the volunteering was or was not completed.
The Executive Director will keep you apprised of any information that may come in that needs your attention, but if you have any questions or concerns, at any time - please contact the Executive Director.
Thank you.
